In this episode, we are travelling to New Brunswick, which is in eastern Canada, for listeners who don’t know. There is a river there, called the Dungarvon River, which has an interesting legend or ghost story at least that I hadn’t heard of before.
The Dungarvon River is located in central New Brunswick. It is connected to many lakes in the Miramichi Highlands, which is also part of the Appalachian Mountains, which is an interesting little fact. Apparently, it isn’t easy to access the Dungarvon River, as there are limited roads to the area, because it has such thick forests. However, some people have been known to fish along the water, as Atlantic salmon is known to pass through the river.
The Dungarvon Whooper (‘hooper’) is a ghost story about a tragic incident in the middle of a lumberjack camp in the 19th century. First, let’s dive into the story shared since the late 19th century. This is a question I sometimes receive in my inbox from those who want to start paranormal investigations, so let’s talk about it! I will also create a download based on the information I’ve collected, sort of a paranormal investigation guide, that you can download on my website if you’re interested.
